introducting 2015 6'5 2G/P Jeremy Trudeaux
IMO 2015 6'5 combo guard Jeremy Trudeaux from Marrero, LA is a young player on the way up. You will soon be hearing about his unknown player that many scouts and media people have not seen play yet but when they do they will see just how talented and skilled this long, smooth athlete is between the lines and coast to coast with a basketball.
Chavon Julien is Shaq travel team mate. Chavon' dad coaches their team. Together on the court they are hard to control and beat as a team.
Their AAU team played well all summer long. Shaq is a fundamently sound ball handler and an excellent passer. He is so good with the ball in his hands. Shaq is a strong player with wide shoudlers and long arms. He is an excellent ballhandler in the open court.
He can hit the mid-range and 3-point jump shot well. He's a very good rebounder at 6'5. He's a coast to coast player with smarts and he has a high basketball I. Q.
This quick hand defender has super star written all over him. So keep an eye out an a ear to the ground for this unknown young player many will be hearing and talking about from website to website nationwide. Read more on how well he play at the Rivals Elite Hoops Showcase in Baton Rouge, La later. BTW he will also be at John Lucas Midwest Camp in Louisville, Ky in October

2011 Rivals Hoops Elite Showcase Baton Rouge, LA
Today I attended the 2011 Rivals Elite Hoops Showcase in Baton Rouge, LA. This event did not have all of the best players from the state but I did see some of the best young players from Louisiana and from Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia play.
2012 prospects that played well
This Rivals Top 150 rated player had a good day at the showcase. 6'2 2G Darryl Milburn of McKinley HS Baton Rouge, is coming back from a bad ankle injury according to his dad. Darryl is a good ballhandler in the open court and he can hit the mid range or 3-point jumper. Darryl needs to play harder, tougher and make better decisions with ball. He's a good MM- player.
6'3 combo guard Lucas Martin of Riverside Academy in Reserve, LA, played very well at this event. Lucas is a leader on the court. This long and smooth guard hit several 3-point shoots and he made several good defensive plays. He plays hard all game long. MM
6'7 PF P.J. Brown of St. Amant HS, LA, tells us he is not kin to former Louisiana Tech and NBA great P.J. Brown. P.J. is is a long armed player who rebounds and blocks shots well. He like to play with his back to the basket. More work in needed on the offense end and his foot work. LM
6'3 2G Darius Johnson of McKinley HS Baton Rouge, LA, is a good looking player. He is a good athlete with a strong body. He is fast and quick in the open court with the ball and in transition. He needs to finish better around the basket. A player to keep an eye on.
2013
6'1 PG Stan Mays Jr. of Episcopal HS Baton Rouge, LA, is a steady as they go player. Stan makes good decisions with the ball in the open court and passing to an open team mate. This heady player doesn't force the ball. He likes to take his opponent off the dribble to the basket and score. Stay is an ace student in the classroom and he has a high basketball I.Q. too LM/MM-
5'11 combo guard Marvel Madiebo of Jim Hill HS Jackson, MS, is a very good basketball player. Marvel is a good ball handler and he can score in many ways. He has a strong body and he likes to score in the lane or from 15 feet out. He is a good rebounder and he defends well. He has a good upside. MM+
6'8 PF James Thompson of Parkview Baptist HS Baton Rouge, LA, was the tallest players at this event. James is a good defensive player. He runs the court well, but his offensive game needs some work. Once he learns how to score facing the basket and on the blocks lookout! Keep an eye on this one. A late bloomer. LM/MM+
6'1 PG Nigel Bradley of Forest Hill HS Jackson, MS, is an exciting player. This quick and fast guard is an ace shooter who can hit the mid-range and 3-point jumper. This speedy and fast player is a good defender too. MM+
6'5 GF Kaleb Ratliff of Westgate HS New Iberia, LA, is a long armed player with ace hops. Kaleb is a close to the basket player, but we did see him hit a 15 foot jumper. He runs the court well on the break and his likes to play at rim level. A decent defender and rebounder. LM/MM-
2014
The players in the 2014 class IMO were some of the best prospects at this event. It took me a while to warm up to the play of 6'2 2G/P Dominic McGee from Helen Cox HS Gretna, LA, This smooth lefty is a good passer and scorer. This rangy player made several good open court plays. He's a good defender with a huge upside! MM/M
6'3 2G Thomas Guibeau of Sumset HS, LA, is a good athlete and good open court ballhandler. He just moved to Louisiana from Michigan. He is quick and fast and he likes to take the ball to the basket and score. He still needs to work on his jump shot. A good looking player. Don't overlook. MM
6'4 GF Devante Bailey of Southern Lab HS Baton Rouge, LA, is a long and rangy player that scores well in the lane and along the baseline. This long armed player is a good rebounder and shot blocker. He runs the court and scores well on the break. Good upside. MM
6'0 PG Markell Broussard of Port Allen HS, LA, is a quick and fast player who handles the ball well in the open court. Markell is a good shooter from 15 ft out. He is a good passer and he denfends well. He makes good decision with the ball. MM
2015
The best player in the 2015 class was 6'0 PG Charvon Julien of Riverside Academy in Reserve, LA. Charvon is a under control player who makes good decisions with the ball. He is an ace passer and he pushes the ball up the court well. more work is needed on his jump shot, but he does so many other things well on the court. He's a leader and a floor general. MM/M

A Change of Heart
One of the top prospects in the 2012 class is having a tough time with his recruitment as most recruits do around this time of year. That recruit is 6’5 super smooth and electrifying, combo guard Archie Goodwin of Sylvan Hills HS Little Rock, Ark. Last night after the Kentucky coaches left his home Archie called to tell me what was weighting heavy on his mind and that’s why he is having a change of heart about committing and signing during the spring period. Here’s what he said last night.
Icuplay: Hey Archie how is it going and how was your in home visit with the Wildcats?
AG: Everything went well. Boy, I’m so excited but coach I don’t know what to do right now. I had to call you and tell you I’m having a change of heart about waiting to commit and sign in the spring.
Icuplay: That’s all right Archie. This is your life and you got to do what is best for you. The night before I received several phone calls that you had tweeted something to the fact that you were ready to commit to a school, what was that all about?
AG: Yes, I did tweet something like that. Call it thinking out loud and unclear what I wanted to do. It’s like this coach. My family and me sit down and talked about my recruitment. I said, I want to do it later, but I’m ready to do it early now. I was going to wait but, I feel I know which school I want to go to. I want to get this over with so I can move on with my life and be happy at the same time. I’m ready to start the season and win a state title. I want to put this behind me so I can focus and concentrate on my school work and the upcoming basketball season.
Icuplay: So you and your family agree it’s time to get this over with and you know what school you want to go to, so what are you waiting for?
AG: I want to visit the schools that are recruiting me. I go to Kansas next week 9/24; then to Uconn 9/30; to Arkansas on 10/8; to Kentucky 10/14; and on to Memphis 10/21
Icuplay: So it looks like you are going to make all of your visits before you commit to that school, I’m I right?
AG: Right, now that’s what I plan to do. But today I know what school I want to go to.
Icuplay: What can you tell me without telling me the school you are ready to commit too?
AG: I grow up watching his teams play. I like him as a coaches and the way he coaches his team. His current and former players love him and I can see him helping me while I’m playing for him and he can help me get to the next level and that’s the NBA.
Icuplay: Archie it looks like you and your family has done your home work on this. I can hear it in your voice that you are ready to get this over with?
AG: Yes, coach, I am ready. I’m also planning to do my commitment announcement live on ESPNU too. I just wanted to share that with you.
Icuplay: Archie I know how you feel. I always tell someone in your shoes this: “Two of the hardest things for a young man to do leaving high school is pick which college he will attend and which girl he is going o marry”. So, far it looks like you have one down and one to go. Good luck Archie on the school you choice after your visits. I’ll be in Little Rock to see you rock-the-house this season and to see if you are still worthy enough to become a future McDonald’s All-American Game selectee.
AG: Thanks coach, talk with you later, good night

Introducing 2013 2G Detrick Mostella from Austin HS Decatur, AL
ICUPLAY BLOG, spoke with Detrick Mostella AAU Coach Mark Komaro about this talented 2013 athlete and other players on his Southest Elite Travel Team
The 2013 class is filled with a truck load of quality players at the guard position. One player in this class that had an outstanding summer is unknown, 6’3 2G scoring machine Detrick Mostella from Austin HS in Decatur, AL, right outside of Huntsville, AL. I spoke with Detrick’s AAU Southeast Elite Travel Team Coach Mark Komara about this phenomenal athlete who led the 16U Super showcase teams in scoring per game this summer in Orlando.
Icuplay: Mark your Southeast Elite 16U team is loaded. How good do you think Detrick Mostella is?
MK: Ron, IMO he is one of the top 20 players in this class and one of the top 5 guards in this class too. He’s an unknown player that has super athletic ability.
Icuplay: He reminds you of what player?
MK: He reminds me of Monte Ellis of the Golden State Warriors. Detrick is small and slim like Ellis, fast like Ellis and he has hops like Ellis.
Icuplay: What does he do best bewteen the lines?
MK: I think he is so skilled and talented for an unknown player. I saw him jump so high that he put his elbows on the rim when he dunked the ball one time. No one can keep him from scoring.
Icuplay: What does he need do to improve his game?
MK: Ron he is still young and immature, but he’s getting better. He needs to improve his ball handling and decision making. He also needs to work harder on defense.
Icuplay: I see you have a good young team with some good players?
MK: Yes, I do have some good players on this team. Ron, you have been doing this a long time and you know good players when you see them. I'm have some good players but it would be nice to have more.
Icuplay: Mark can you tell the readers the rest of the young players on your team we saw this summer and in Alabama last month?
MK: I have 2013 players like 6’7 SF DeOntaye Curtis and 6’6 GF/P Sade Webster. 2014 6’7 GF Riley Norris is a very good young player too.
Icuplay: Mark I plan on keeping an eye on all of your players and I am going to invite all of them to John Lucas Mid-West event in Louisville, KY next month, so more scout's and media people that have not seen them play get a good look at them. I also want John who's on the McDonald’s Selection Committee with me and more to see them play too. I truly believe Detrick is one of the top five guards in the 2013 class and he will be a top 25 prospect in this class when it is all said and done.
